Dr Andreoni brings relevant research expertise in the political economy of industrial transformation, and technical knowledge in productive sectors, organisations and capabilities development, with a focus on the East African region where he has worked for half a decade. He has published widely and cumulated ten years industrial policy experience across multiple countries, while acting as advisors for organisations such as UNIDO, ILO, UNCTAD, UNDP and OECD. He is currently scientific advisor for the World Bank for the Competitive Industry and Innovation Programme (CIIP) in Africa, and member of the Initiative for Policy Dialogue IPD Task Forces on ‘Quality of Growth in Africa’ led by Joseph Stiglitz.

In March 2020, Dr Andreoni started a new role of Associate Professor of Industrial Economics and Head of Research at UCL’s Institute for Innovation and Public Purpose. He remains a Research Associate for the SOAS-ACE Consortium.
